Certified Facilitator Application

HEALING DEN CERTIFIED Facilitator

The following questions will help you assess whether you want to be certified. It will assist in the evaluation of whether you meet the level of self-awareness that will support going through the certification process. It is a collaborative process as we will directly respond and nudge you for clarity.

Before applying please ensure you have satisfied the following requirements:

You must be a Certified Practitioner to be eligible for the Facilitator certification.
In addition to classes complete from the Certified Practitioner requirements, you must..
Complete an Additional Healing Den Basic Intensive or the Advanced Intensive
Complete a Second Additional Basic Intensive as Overstaff
Complete a Third Additional Basic Intensive as an Instructor / Helping to Demonstrate and Teach the Material
In addition to assignments completed for the certified practitioner, you must continue to complete the following assignments / reflection papers with each additional class taken:
Class Reflection Papers: Submit program reflection papers directly following each class session. (Each one week session of the intensive is one reflection paper.)
Practice Session Reflection Papers: Submit at least three reflections on designated forms of practice sessions with clients or other HD members in each year prior to seeking certification.
Additional Practice Reflection Papers: Submit at least four additional practice session reflections prior to seeking certification.
A conversation with Herb signaling your readiness to pursue facilitator certification.

You will be evaluated on your ability to teach both via demonstration and didactically. Herb will evaluate your facilitation skills based on your presence, keeping the client present, recognizing when the session is over during demos, and clarity of teaching. This will be done at special workshops with other students seeking facilitator certification. Outside clients may be included in the practicum that may include past traumas.

1. Describe your underlying interest in being a certified facilitator.

2. How is a healing presence as a facilitator different or differentiated from being a certified practitioner?

3. Describe how you use the healing den process in your teaching processes.

4. Describe how you know that the class has entered liminal space and what you will do to manage it safety and healing of the class.

5. Describe the importance of understanding and applying to yourself as a facilitator the spiritual seven mirrors created by the Essenes thousands of years ago. Consider pitfalls.

6. What is the difference as a facilitator between “doing unto” versus “doing or being with” and how does this apply to your teaching processes? Please provide examples of actual work.

7. The Healing Den notes that healing presence is being the prayer. Please describe what does this mean and how you apply it to your work as a facilitator?

8. Many traditions discuss presence as the integration of the masculine and feminine energies. What does this mean to you as the facilitator of the class and how does it apply to the Healing Den?
