The Coronavirus, aka Covid 19, is an energetic cauldron. If you will, it is global transformation, often referred to as a collective initiation. Like all initiations, we do not expect them or most often do not volunteer, at least, consciously to participate. Rather, an initiation, drags us deep into the collective (and/or personal) unconscious to create a transformative reframing of reality. All self-created constructs in the form of values, biases, preconceived notions, and general misdirections from the core of or ourselves and the collective humanity are brought forth.
For those afraid of such revelations about themselves and their participation in the larger collective, they will tend to follow Leon Festinger’s three rules of integrating new ideas. We either accept, reject/destroy, or ignore the energetic shifts seeking conscious awareness.
If we look at the present disposition of the world, there are many initiatory energies simultaneously. The virus has people either accepting medical guidance through wearing masks, using social distancing, and relearning or learning basic hygiene. Those ignoring the medical facts simply go to bars, beaches, and other social venues without any preventive actions. Those rejecting the increasing numbers of confirmed cases, hospitalizations, and deaths tend to be belligerent including demonstrating against the information by suggesting freedoms are being infringed upon. The latter two responses increase the spread of the disease until contracting or transmitting to family….to their personal embarrassment.
In the table below, Stages of Initiation, we can see from various experts that the virus triggered an initiation. Please take the time to review the table to begin to remember your own experiences that support we are in an individual and global awakening (or initiation). Consider times in your life where you became something deeper and different yet more yourself.
As we explore the situation, we can see that the virus has triggered an economic crisis for many as unemployment has triggered further self-examination in perceptions of the various roles one has become, whether as provider, parents, child, etc. Worry fills the pores triggering emotions of safety, fear, etc. beyond what the virus has imbued into us. This worry overrides the fear of the virus with anger for many as their sense of success or making a living might override common sense to stay home or to be more careful.
Finally, we are faced with a crisis in humanity. We now see disparity in human treatment through race, religion, income, sexual orientation, etc. Our inbred biases are choking off our perceptions in many cases so stark reality such as violence in multiple forms are in our face and in living color.
I suspect you are now beginning to get the gist of the economic, health, and social pandemic. We are in a big cauldron being forced to self-exam our sense of self, our sense of a country, and our sense humanity.
From a healing presence perspective, if we view the present series of simultaneous pandemics from an energetic pattern, the initiatory process has us feeling like we are drowning or coping by staying above the fray or struggling to be fully present. Try asking yourself is this my energy, my memories, or the collective in transition.
If our energy feels disrupted, creating anxiety, we are attempting to clear the lens of perception to see more clearly. If we are sluggish and slightly depressed, it might be the collective energy, something that we do not wish to see or experience, or some experiences from the past seeking our awareness. Regardless, the reactive moods and emotions are often suggestions to ask what wants to be seen and altered to create more coherence within our conscious self. Meditation becomes even more important as our answers to the initiation lie deep within ourselves and the collective unconscious.
Rumi centuries ago, reminded us that we live through much of life as if we are rote, semi-awake individuals. We tell a story that we are present while living within the self-created social constructs of who we are supposed to be in our various roles and self-perceptions. I think it is time to wake up while in this transformative initiation and give yourself permission to more fully be the person who resides deep within you, partially hiddenfrom yourself and others for fear of harm, rejection, or acceptance.
If our energy feels disrupted, creating anxiety, we are attempting to clear the lens of perception to see more clearly. If we are sluggish and slightly depressed, it might be the collective energy or that we do not wish to see or experience something seeking our awareness. Regardless of the experience, the reactive moods and emotions are often suggestions to ask what wants to be seen and altered to create more coherence within our conscious self.
As a healing presence, say “yes” to be present to yourself, to the world, and provide your essence energetically to what we are becoming. Say “thank you” and “goodbye” to your charred self and walk in your healing presence.
